NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been found not guilty of all charges in a Massachusetts case involving allegations made by his former personal chef, Jamila “Mila” Adams. The verdict follows a short but closely watched trial that concluded with a full acquittal on charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery.
The case stemmed from a December 2, 2025 incident at Diggs’ home in Dedham, where Adams alleged that the NFL star slapped and choked her during a dispute tied to personal and financial tensions, including issues related to wages and travel plans. Diggs denied the accusations from the beginning and entered a not guilty plea earlier in 2026.
During the two-day trial, prosecutors relied heavily on Adams’ testimony, describing a complicated relationship between the two that included both professional and personal elements. The defense, however, challenged her credibility, pointing to inconsistencies in her statements, a lack of physical evidence, and testimony from witnesses who reported seeing no visible injuries following the alleged incident.
Additional defense arguments suggested possible financial motives, noting claims that Adams had sought a multimillion-dollar settlement prior to trial. Jurors ultimately deliberated for roughly 90 minutes before returning a unanimous not guilty verdict, signaling that the prosecution failed to meet the burden of proof required for conviction.
With the acquittal, Diggs is cleared of all criminal charges, closing a legal chapter that had raised questions about his professional future. Now a free agent following his departure from the New England Patriots, attention is expected to shift back to his NFL career.
