DC’s small screen empire is set to grow a little larger next year. According to Deadline, the studio’s new series, Stargirl will be the first DC Universe series to air on The CW as well. No release date has been set yet but, when it premieres, episodes will air on The CW the day after they drop on DC Universe.
The series will star Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl, a high school sophomore who leads a team of young heroes. In the series, Whitmore and her comrades will form the Arrowverse’s first version of the Justice Society of America. Bassinger is set to make her debut as the character in The CW’s upcoming ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover event. Though it’s unknown exactly how much we’ll learn about her in the event. There’s a host of former DC actors reprising their roles for the event, including both Brandon Routh and Tom Welling as two different versions of Superman.
In the Supergirl series, Bassinger will star alongside Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, and Yvette Monreal. Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker, and Hunter Sansone are also set to appear.
Stargirl has yet to receive an official release date though its set to premiere sometime in the second quarter of 2020.
