The Star Trek Universe got a whole lot bigger on Saturday. During a massive, three-hour panel marathon CBS revealed the cast for Star Trek: Lower Decks as well as details about the highly-anticipated third season of Star Trek: Discovery. Without a doubt, the biggest Trek announcement of the day came at the end of the panels though. Sir Patrick Stewart took the stage to show off the first trailer for Star Trek: Picard and reveal some key cast details about the event series.
Stewart won’t be the only Trek alum to appear in Picard. Brent Spiner will reprise his role as the android Data alongside Jeri Ryan, who played Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Voyager. Jonathan Del Arco also appeared on stage with Stewart during the panel. Del Arco played a Borg named Hugh in Star Trek: Next Generation and his involvement signals that the Borg Collective will play a role in the new series. Stewart will also be reuniting with two other Next Generation stars during the events of Picard: Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes.
