New Orleans native Stan Verrett may be spending a bit more time away from home. This week, ESPN announced that Verrett had extended his deal with ESPN. In addition, he will host 11 p.m. editions of SportsCenter from Los Angeles. Moreover, he will make appearances as the anchor of the 1 a.m. SportsCenter.
“I’m excited to continue what we have built on SportsCenter from Los Angeles,” Verrett said.
“I feel a real sense of mission about our show, having been there from the beginning.”
Verrett is a graduate of Howard University who landed at the worldwide leader in sports in 2000. Verrett spent nine years in Bristol, Connecticut before being located to Los Angeles, California in 2009. Over the last decade, he’s become a mainstay on the network’s flagship program, SportsCenter.
“We will keep doing our best to bring fans the most comprehensive highlights and insightful analysis, in an informative and entertaining manner, on every show,” he added.
“Let’s go!”
