Squid Game is one of the biggest surprises of the young decade. In a matter of weeks, the series emerged as the most-watched show on Netflix in more than a decade. The dramatic series about survival, socioeconomic dynamics and much more caught the attention of LeBron James, Kerry Washington, Billie Eilish and left millions of others wanting more.
While the show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has not finalized a deal to continue producing the show for Netflix, it does appear that the two sides are on good terms. During a recent interview with KBS, Hwang Dong-hyuk told his fans that he is not negotiating terms for one more season, but he’s negotiating a deal for two more seasons of Squid Game.
“I’m in talks with Netflix over season 2 as well as season 3,” he said, according to the Korea Times.
“We will come to a conclusion any time soon.”
Not much is known about when the second and third seasons of Squid Game will arrive, but it is clear that season two will focus on the story of Gi-hun and the fallout from the competition.
