The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a deal with Solomon Hill, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. The small forward will make at least $48 million over four years, with the opportunity to make over $50 million with incentives.

Hill has spent his entire three year career in Indiana. The 25-year-old only played in 59 games last season but showed good production in limited minutes.
Last year, Hill averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in 14 minutes of playing time. Extrapolating those numbers to per 36 minutes results in a more sold 10.2 points and 6.9 rebounds statline.
Hill had a bit of a breakout in the postseason. His play won both ends of the floor was crucial to the Pacers and led to the team taking the Raptors to seven games. Notably, Hill hit what would have been a game-winner in that series but released the ball just too late, coming a tenth of a second short of being a hero for Indiana.
In the postseason, Hill averaged 7.7 points and 4 rebounds in 28 minutes per game.
New Orleans will be banking on Hill becoming a productive 3-and-D small forward. He has been a mediocre three point shooter in his career thus far, but could project as a legitimate one with more work. The Pelicans likely overpaid for their target, but Solomon Hill could be a nice addition next to Anthony Davis.
