Purposely so, Sia has found herself being what is best described as a mystery among the general public. With the emphasis of always wanting the focus to be on the music, Sia has made it her mission to play in the shadows while letting her tunes speak for itself. Whether you instantly recognize Sia’s material or not, one thing for sure is that you just might have a favorite song that’s been written by the hit-maker. Lending her talent to the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, and many more, the writer is gearing up for the release of a new body of work of her own.
Titled This Is Acting, the LP is slated for a January 29th release. Among the album’s tracks is ‘Reaper,’ which not only sticks to true fashion for the ‘Chandelier’ singer, but it also received contributions from none other than Kanye West himself. Being co-written and co-produced by the rapper, this doesn’t make for the first time that the duo has linked up as Kanye debuted their ‘Wolves’ collaborations with Vic Mensa almost a year ago. With the songstress going on record stating that a lot of the songs that would be found on her upcoming album were “rejects” from other famous singers, one can only think that ‘Reaper’ could have possibly been a song that was turned down by Rihanna as Kanye serves as executive producer for ANTi, or a record intended for Ye’s long-awaited SWISH. Potentially passing on a future hit, listen to a preview of Sia’s ‘Reaper,’ below. The record will be available for purchase and streaming on January 7.
