The Cleveland Indians have had one of their starting pitchers make history for the first time since 2009 as Shane Bieber has completed the Pitching Triple Crown. His 2020 performances give him an honor that was last completed by Johan Santana back in 2009.

The Indians got one heck of a performance out of Bieber in 2020 as he was able to be lights out and dominant on the mound. He led the league in wins, had the most strikeouts, and the best ERA during the 2020 season.
In 12 games started during the 2020 season, Bieber was 8-1 with an ERA of 1.63. a WHIP of 0.87, and striking out 122 hitters over 77.1 innings pitched on the season. Keep in mind, Bieber is just in his third year in the big leagues, where he is only 25 years old.
The trend should continue to go upward, and he can be a force for the Indians’ rotation over the coming years. But for now, he can gear up for the postseason with one great cap to the 2020 season by winning the Pitching Triple Crown.
The Indians, on the other hand, are going to be heading into a postseason matchup with the New York Yankees; this comes after it appeared they may tear down the team and try to rebuild. They would ultimately trade Mike Clevinger at the deadline but still made the postseason.
They will open up with the New York Yankees, where Bieber will take on Gerrit Cole to kick things off.
