On Monday, September 16, 2024, Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in the lobby of a hotel in New York, New York. The details of the indictment has been sealed and the details of the charges levied against him have not yet been shared with the public.
“We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time,” said Damian Williams, United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Combs recently relocated to his home state of New York to cooperate with authorities as the threat of charges loomed. However, Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, says the charges brought against his client are “unjust.”
“He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal,” Agnifilo said.
“Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Combs is at the center of several legal battles in which he is accused of abusing others and facilitating illegal activities. Most notably, his former significant other, Cassie Ventura, his former artist, Dawn Richard, and producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones have accused the entertainment mogul of abuse, harassment, assault and litany of other crimes. As recently as March, Homeland Security executed a search warrant at his homes in Los Angeles, California and Miami, Florida. Since then, Combs has remained out of the public eye for the most part. However, he was spotted in New York’s Washington Square Park, prompting speculation that he may be preparing for impending legal charges in the Empire State.
