This Friday proved to be an extremely crowded release date. Handling the R&B side of things, SZA, Jorja Smith, Miguel and Sonder all delivered new music this week. Adding to the weekend’s new releases, Westside Gunn, Polo G, Coi Leray and Lil’ Uzi Vert offered new music as well. Not to mention, pop stars like Doja Cat and Taylor Swift delivered new music.
One name missing from this week’s release schedule is Saweetie. The California native was slated to release a new project called Pretty Summer Playlist. However, she opted to push the release back by a week.
“[I have an] update Icy Gang. The Pretty Summer Playlist has to be pushed back to [April 16, 2021], but I promise it will be worth the wait,” she tweeted.
Saweetie’s newest project will include contributions from BBYAfricka, Drakeo The Ruler, Lourdiz and Loui. It is slated to arrive alongside new albums from Shelley, Queen Naija and several others. Check back next week for the full project.
