Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage was taken to the hospital after suffering a concussion and neck injury. He suffered the injury in the team’s 31-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the 2022-23 Wild Card Round. According to the team, Gage has movement in all of his extremities and will stay with the hospital today for additional testing. Injuries like this continue to highlight how dangerous football can be. Hopefully, Gage is fine and can rebound heading into the NFL off-season. Updates from the team will be provided as they become available.

Russell Gage signed in the offseason with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after spending his first four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. In his first year with Tampa Bay, Gage caught 51 passes for 426 yards and five touchdowns on 70 targets. The season did not quite work out the way the team planned, but Gage was solid depth at the wide receiver position for the team. Now he has the NFL offseason to recover from this injury and see what he needs to do moving forward. The hospital in Tampa Bay will evaluate him further and go from there. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Gage the best in his recovery.
