ROE is arguably one of the most accomplished artists that you may not be familiar with. However, that will change after you hear her latest work. After spending time in the studio with the likes of Usher and Mary J. Blige, the rising R&B star has stepped out and released her debut EP, My Way. As expected, the project showcases her talent as a songwriter. Adding to her skill as a songwriter, ROE’s warm, inviting voice adds a layer to My Way that makes it impossible not to replay over and over and over.
“As an artist I just want to touch people’s lives and be there for every moment and occasion. This project is very special to me. I feel like I’ve worked my entire life for this moment and we’re just getting started. The way it makes me feel to see people receive the music how they do, I can’t put into words. Just — thank you for listening and let’s grow together,” ROE said.
What makes her debut EP even more special is her individuality. As she developed this body of work, the singer-songwriter made sure that each track matched her personality and overall vision. Heavily inspired by Frank Sinatra’s classic tune, My Way is the reflection of a true artist who is taking ownership of her path and putting out music in the manner in which she has always hoped to do.
“Starting out, some people had strong opinions on my records and how they may be received but I trusted what’s true and authentic to me. Completely independent with some incredible team members, I did it my way,” she added.
