ROE is here to take us back to the 1990’s with her Hi-Five inspired single, “I Like.” The vibrant production allows for the California native’s vocals to take center stage.
“Kissing Game found me in the studio that night. I hadn’t heard it in years prior to the night I wrote this song,” she said about the song.
“That’s the power and magic of timeless music, I guess. It floats around forever to live over and over again,” she added.
“I Like” is just a taste of what we can expect from her debut project this fall. After spending years writing for artists such as Mary J. Blige, Usher and Teyana Taylor, she is stepping out as a solo artist. Her ability to dive into the sounds that made artists of her childhood pop while adding her own twist will make this record and her debut EP something special in 2020.
Earlier this week, she performed for ASCAP’s 2020 Summer Showcase. Now, she’s making waves with a new single. Check out “I Like” above and let us know what you think.
