Rico Nasty is in her Jordan year and is ready to take over. The Washington, D.C. native is here to deliver her latest project, Nightmare Vacation.
Nightmare Vacation is an album that has overcome. Like many artists, Rico Nasty’s plans to put out music were halted multiple times due to coronavirus. Luckily, it’s finally arrived.
“[It’s] probably the longest thing I’ve ever worked on in my life, besides my child . It was a journey. Obviously, coronavirus tried to ruin everything, time and time again. I had a release date last November [and] a release date in March, but I overcame all of that,” she said about the project.
The 16-track project features Trippie Redd, Gucci Mane, Don Toliver and several others. Along the way, she makes the transition from the 19 year old we met way back when to an adult ready to make a statement.
“For once in my life, I feel like a little sexy butterfly. [I feel] like a woman [and] not like a teenage rapper. I feel more comfortable in my voice [and] in my skin. That’s just a part of getting older. I feel like when I was in high school I was already rebellious and fun, but I had never driven a car [or] gone to a club. When you actually experience certain things and can talk about them and share that…I’ve been taking a lot of advantage of that.”
