After going for a layup against the Orlando Magic, Ricky Rubio fell to the floor with what seemed to be an ankle sprain. And according to the Minnesota Timberwolves via press release, our suspicions were true as the MRI showed an ankle sprain.
An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) taken Saturday morning on Ricky Rubio’s left ankle confirmed a significant sprain. He will be sidelined indefinitely. A further update will be provided when appropriate.
The injury occurred at the 2:28 mark of the second quarter.
Through five games this season Rubio is averaging 9.4 points, 10.0 assists and 5.6 rebounds in 28.8 minutes per game.
Lucky for the Miami Heat who they face , they won’t have to deal with Rubio. He’s been playing very well and has been giving the T’Wolves a fighting chance in every game with his 10 assists per game.
