Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee will be forced to take some time away from the fast-paced chaos on Capitol Hill. Earlier this week, Lee’s office revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Sheila Jackson Lee tested positive for COVID. She is fully vaccinated and has received her boosters,” a statement from the congresswoman’s office reads.
“She encourages everyone to get tested and fully vaccinated along with their booster shots. She looks forward to a full and complete recovery.”
Jackson Lee attended a baby formula giveaway for parents and children on Saturday. During the event, she reportedly wore a mask. There is no word as to if anyone else who attended the event tested positive for COVID-19.
Jackson Lee will take some time away from in-person activities in Washington, D.C. until she makes a full recovery.
