Red Bull announces the release of their new competition show, The Cut. The Cut is a high-stakes songwriting series hosted by Quality Control’s Multi-Platinum Record Producer, OG Parker. OG Parker has produced for Migos, Chris Brown, Gucci Mane, and a few others.
The show’s cast features 18 unsigned songwriters and producers who have never met. As part of the competition, castmates are randomly paired up with the task of creating an original hip-hop track from scratch, in only 10 hours.
“I am incredibly impressed with the high level of creativity and originality that stemmed from this dynamic group,” said OG Parker in a provided statement. He continues, “The dedication and musical growth of everyone this season was unparalleled, and Red Bull and I are proud to give wings to these talented artists.”
The winning songwriter is awarded a Red Bull Songs publishing deal and the winning producer will receive recording time in the Red Bull Music Studio in Los Angeles.
The show will be available exclusively on Red Bull TV. The series consists of 4, 30-minute episodes, where songwriter-producer pairs compete to make it to the finale in the hopes of winning the prize.
