According to a report from Daily Mail, Ray J is currently discussing Suge Knight’s possible release with officials in the Trump Administration. The report indicates that the R&B singer turned entertainment mogul is looking to follow in the steps of Kim Kardashian-West.
One source told the outlet, “He saw what Kim was able to do with her work in the criminal justice system and he is determined to show he can do the same.”
The source added, “He’s adamant that he can convince Trump to pardon Suge and that people will respect him for doing so.”
According to the report, Trump’s administration is interested in the meeting. Ray J was allegedly invited to join Trump on Air Force One in Louisiana, but was to do so because of scheduling conflicts.
Knight is currently serving a 28 year sentence for manslaughter. The former Death Row CEO is believed to be responsible for a 2015 hit-and-run that resulted in the death of Terry Carter and injured one other man. Knight was initially set to serve an 11 year sentence, but his sentence was doubled because of his prior run ins with the legal system.

However, Knight cannot be technically pardoned by Trump because he is in state prison. Trump cannot pardon those in the California prison system. More details will be reported as they become available.
