The Michael B. Jordan led series, Raising Dion, has been renewed for a second season at Netflix. Raising Dion‘s first season debuted on the streaming platform last October. Executive produced by Jordan, the series follows the story of Nicole, a single mother living in Atlanta while raising her son, Dion, who possesses supernatural powers.
Alisha Wainwright plays the role of Nicole. Meanwhile, Ja’Siah Young stars in the role of Dion. Jordan and Jason Ritter also have recurring roles in the Netflix show.
When asked about the series, Wainwright said, “You come across so many superhero stories that usually are from the perspective of the person inflicted with the powers.”

She added, “It was so refreshing to hear the story from the person whose life is so dramatically affected by that: the caregiver of that young person.”
During it’s first season, Raising Dion received great reviews from critics and viewers alike. As reported by Deadline, the show was the most popular on Netflix series among kids and families in 2019.
There is no set release date for the superhero drama’s second season yet. In the meantime, check out the sophomore season announcement above.
