
The Providence Friars men’s basketball team has captured their first-ever Big East regular-season title. Head Coach Ed Cooley has been building the Friars into a top Big East basketball program and achieving this is further proof that this team is trending upwards in NCAA and Big East play. The team has one final regular-season game against the Villanova Wildcats but win or lose they will be the number one seed in the 2022 Big East Conference Tournament.

The Providence Friars have worked long and hard to reach this point in the Big East. Currently, on the season, the team holds an overall record of 24-3 and a Big East record of 14-2. The team is currently ranked 11th in the AP Poll with a massive matchup against number eight Villanova on Tuesday night. Head Coach Ed Cooley has been monumental in establishing the Friars as a top Big East program.

Providence will enter the 2022 Big East Tournament as the top seed and a good chance to also capture the 2022 Big East Tournament Championship. They will also likely be a top 16 team in the 2022 NCAA Tournament with big plans for college basketball’s biggest event. With March Madness set to begin soon, the Providence Friars have high hopes heading into the conference tournament and 2022 NCAA Tournament.
