The Miami Dolphins have informed wide receiver Preston Williams that he will be waived by the team. NFL teams have until four p.m. on Tuesday to trim their rosters to 53 men in preparation for the start of the 2022-23 regular season. Several teams reportedly reached out to Miami about a potential trade for Williams, but a deal was not reached. There will likely be several teams interested in signing Williams to a contract for the upcoming regular season. It seems he ended up being the odd wide receiver out on the Dolphins roster.

In his three-year career with the Miami Dolphins, Preston Williams has played 24 games and caught 56 passes for 787 yards and seven touchdowns on 111 targets. He also rushed the ball one time for seven yards in his career. His targets have declined each year in the three years he has played in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins. As the team has added more talent to the position, Willaims has seen his role decrease on the team. A fresh start on a new team is exactly what he needs this season.

Preston Willaims has shown flashes of talent in his career, but it became clear the Dolphins were moving in a different direction. Now he will get the chance to sign with another team and get a new start in his career. He is still a young talent and can carve out a solid role on the right team this season.
