We’re four episodes into the final season of Power and the story continues to unfold with new twists and turns. This week, Tariq doubled down on his decision to enter the drug business, Tasha got her new business off the ground and Councilman Tate failed at his attempt to gain control over Ghost. Meanwhile, death appeared to be omnipresent throughout the episode. Angela haunted Ghost’s memories, Ghost made another attempt at Tommy’s life and Proctor was caught on tape letting his wife OD. In comparison, this week’s episode was a little bit light on actual deaths, but it alluded to a number of funerals that may be on the way. Here are this week’s Power rankings.

If there’s one thing Courtney Kemp and company have a tendency to do, it’s to kill off characters with kids. Over the years, we’ve seen Proctor’s wife, Jerry Donovan and a number of others leave children behind. This week, Q entered the picture by way of his daughter, Sky, who will attend Tasha’s daycare. However, he appears to be in way over his head by getting involved with Tasha. For once, Tasha tries to warn a potential love interest about Ghost, but that’s not enough for Q. Worse enough, Q comes face to face with Ghost in the daycare. It’s only a matter of time before Ghost turns back into the person we’ve known him to be and turn Sky into a fatherless child. However, Q does appear to know more about Ghost than he’s letting on. Maybe, there’s hope for him after all.
2. Maria Suarez
She’s a dead woman walking. If money would’ve kept her quiet, Ghost would’ve shut her up a long time ago. Ghost has been an utter mess for three consecutive seasons, but now we’re supposed to believe he’s turned over a new leaf? Angela may not be right about a lot of things, but she was right when she told Ghost that he has just delayed her death. Moreover, she may end up being killed by the feds. Given their track record, it wouldn’t be out of bounds for them to kill an uncooperative witness.
3. Councilman Tate

Councilman Tate continues to push Jamie into confrontational situations. It’s understandable that he wants to know everyone that’s involved in his campaign, but it’s in his best interest to have plausible deniability at all times. More importantly, anyone that tries to stand next to Ghost willingly usually ends up hating him or dead. As Ghost explained, the stunt Tate pulled will get those two undercover officers killed at best and him killed at worst. Just stay in your lane Tate! We all know he won’t though.
4. Tommy Eagan

This week, Tommy finally let us in. For seasons upon seasons, Tommy has let viewers see his innermost emotions but ultimately cut them off when things got too serious. He’s killed his father, pregnant girlfriend and many others. For a while, it’s felt as if the only person he wouldn’t kill is his mother. However, that’s slowly starting to change. As he’s laying in bed with LaKeisha, he’s starting to realize what Ghost realized a while ago; family is all you’ve got. Once you lose your family, you’ll end up like Ghost. Ghost went through that, so you don’t have to go through that. Tommy’s mom may not be wrong that LaKeisha may turn on him to protect Cash, but it appears that Tommy may not turn on her if she decides to do that. Tommy is slowly turning into a family man before our eyes.
5. Vincent Ragni

For the past two seasons, Vincent has laid low relative to his counterparts. Outside of his dealings with Tommy, he tends to run his business as usual. However, his decision to dive further into the drug game with Tariq runs counter to who we’ve come to know him as. As he explained, he can have control over Tommy and Ghost if he controls Tariq. Unfortunately, there are two issues with that line of thinking. First, no one has control over Tariq. He will lie and sneak his way around everything and around him to survive. In many ways, he’s a less intelligent version of his father. Second, Tommy has become less and less tied to Tariq as season six has gone on. Tommy still loves Tariq, but he has tried to kill his father and he has his own family to think about. Above all else, Tommy or Ghost could just get rid of Vincent if need be.
