Power Rankings: Like Father, Like Son

  • October 7, 2019
  • Ryan Shepard
Power
From Executive Producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Show Creator Courtney Kemp (The Good Wife) comes Season 6 of the hit drama “Power.” (Starz)

The second half of Power‘s final season has kicked off and it is exactly what most expected. Tariq is setting up to become the man his father has taught him to be. Meanwhile, Tasha is teaching Tariq how to become a better version of the man she hates. Outside of the St. Patrick household, Tommy is building a household with a woman that wants the same thing Ghost wants, an exit strategy. Meanwhile, Saxe is out of work and Jason is making sure that his business continues to grow. Not to mention, the good brother, B.G., met his untimely demise. After all of that, the world of Power moved forward toward its highly anticipated climax. Here are the Power rankings for Like Father, Like Son.

1. Cooper Saxe

— Power (@Power_STARZ) October 7, 2019

Cooper Saxe’s incompetent work has led to the deaths of some of the show’s best characters. Without a job or the backing of the United States Government, Saxe is a man without a home. If he has no one to protect him, who is going to keep him alive? To be specific, Andre Coleman has a specific vendetta for him. He took away his child and placed an illegal ankle monitor on him. If Andre continues on his current path, it’s only a matter of time until he puts a few bullets in Saxe’s head. Not to mention, he’s obsessed with Ghost and if he gets in his way, he may end up dead.

2. Rashad Tate

— Na’B’eela (@_simplybee) October 6, 2019

It’s not a matter of if, but simply a matter of when. As the final season of Power has gone on, Tate has gone from being a calculated politician to a spoiled oversized child. He’s been used by a married woman for political gain, failed at wooing over Ramona and failed at every attempt to halt Ghost’s plans. For the time being, he’s an innocent roadblock, but it’s only a matter of time until he makes a mistake that can’t be forgiven. Similar to Saxe, he has no backing. Ramona could care less for him, his employees hate him and Ghost could easily take his place in a political campaign.

3. Andre Coleman

It’s unlikely that Dre will die within the next three episodes, but it would be hard to believe that he would make it to the next season. With Ghost out of his life and Tariq out of the picture, Tommy loves four people, his mother, Lakeisha, Cash and B.G. 2-Bit and Spanky will immediately know that Dre killed B.G. Once they pass that information along to Tommy, the three will stop at nothing to kill Dre. At this point, Dre’s only lifeline will be the stored locations on his ankle monitor and Ghost. For Dre’s sake, that will hopefully be enough to keep him alive. If not, it won’t be hard to figure out who pulled the trigger.

4. James “Ghost” St. Patrick

Wishful thinking. #PowerTV pic.twitter.com/NXHKGsrK0g

— Power (@Power_STARZ) October 7, 2019

One of the most essential rules about owning and using a gun is to never show it unless you plan on using it. Early in this week’s episode, Ghost wakes his son up at gunpoint to scare him straight. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the desired effect. In less than a day, he’s meeting up with Tommy and grabbing drugs from Dre. Worst of all, Tariq has the belief that Ghost won’t actually kill him. He may be right. Since Ghost claimed to turn over a new leaf, he’s been hesitant to pull the trigger on anyone not named Tommy. He neglected to kill Maria Suarez, LaKeisha Grant and Derek Haynes. If he can’t kill people who mean nothing to him, he won’t be able to kill Tariq.

5. Jason Micic

— Power (@Power_STARZ) October 7, 2019

Jason is a smart businessman. He’s strategic, thoughtful and assertive. However, he’s never been one to do proper background checks on those closest to him. He was prepared to let Dre take over for Tommy if he passed his tests despite the fact that Dre is an informant. He also made Ghost pay him for protection neglecting the fact that bringing Ghost closer to the business would only make things more difficult. To top it all of, he is now forcing Ghost and Tommy to work together despite the fact that they have killed all of their previous connects.
