Post Malone leads the pack, earning seven total nominations for the 2019 American Music Awards, followed closely by Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish.
Pop artists dominate the genre-free categories this year. Post Malone holds seven nominations including Artist of the Year and Collaboration of the Year. Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish tie with six nominations each. The two singers may exist as opposites in sound and image yet compete in four of the same categories.

Taylor Swift and newcomer Lil Nas X are tied with five nominations each including two of the most coveted titles. Taylor Swift joins Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey and Post Malone in competition for Artist of the Year. Lil Nas X competes against Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Lizzo and Ella Mai for New Artist of the Year.
The AMA nominations are based on data from Billboard.com, streaming, digital and physical sales, social media and touring. All winners are selected by fan votes which will be open until November 20.
The AMAs will air live on Sunday, Nov. 24 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
