
Authorities are investigating the deaths of a mother and her 2-year-old son at Petco Park in San Diego, California on Saturday. The mother and son were attending a San Diego Padres game when they fell from the third-level concourse to the sidewalk below on Tony Gwynn Drive. Medical professionals were called to the scene shortly after the fall, but they were pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m. on September 25.
Thus far, the police have not revealed the identities of the mother and son who died in the tragic fall. However, they did not that the father was at the game with them that afternoon.
Police have not determined whether or not this fall was accidental or intentional, but they have described the incident as “suspicious.”
“Our hearts obviously go out to the family, but also to the people who here could potentially be traumatized who saw this,” officer Andra Brown told the San Diego Union-Tribune.
“It’s a horrible, horrible thing. That’s why we’re giving it a very serious look.”
