
Philadelphia 76ers acquired JaVale McGee in a trade with the Denver Nuggets that was essentially seen as a salary dump to Philadelphia to just acquire more draft picks. McGee initially embraced his role with the team, even going as far as saying he would be a mentor to the younger Sixers on the team.
After some discussions about buying him out, the Sixers have agreed to just waive him and McGee’s tenure is over in Philadelphia after 6 games. There is one positive, he can say that he’s played in more Sixers wins than Andrew Bynum.

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to waive JaVale McGee in time for him to sign with a playoff team.
McGee did not have to give any money back for the opportunity to play in meaningful games this season. McGee is owed $12 million for next season.
The 76ers acquired a future first round pick from the Denver Nuggets while taking on McGee and his contract.
McGee played in six games for the 76ers.
The San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat are mentioned as possible destinations for McGee.
When McGee does find a team to suit his skills, it won’t be a team looking to get a fresh start. Teams that want his services are those looking to make a push towards the playoffs and possibly a title.

McGee has shown flashes of brilliance wherever he played. He has some great athleticism especially for standing at almost 7 feet he can make some great highlight plays.
Any team that signs McGee to come of their bench will immediately get a guy who can put up some good offensive numbers and he’s also a ‘Shaqtin A Fool’ legend.
McGee, who was taken 18th overall by the Washington Wizards out of Nevada in 2008, has averaged 8.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in seven seasons. In his 6 games with the 76ers he averaged 3.0 points and 2.2 rebounds in 10.2 minutes.
