The Ohio State Buckeyes have pulled out of the CBS Sports Classic and will not play against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the program. UCLA and North Carolina are still scheduled to take place and a replacement team for Kentucky may be found before Saturday. The two-game event takes place in Las Vegas and on short notice finding a replacement team could be difficult. Ohio State and Kentucky will not reschedule the matchup for after this season.

The Ohio State and Kentucky matchup was set to be a fun game with two ranked opponents. Ohio State is currently ranked 15th while Kentucky is ranked 21st. Hopefully, the CBS Sports Classic and Kentucky can work together and find a new opponent for the event on Saturday. Not getting to watch the E.J. Liddell and Oscar Tshiebwe contest is unfortunate for college basketball fans.
John Calipari needs a game Saturday.
Rick Pitino needs a game Saturday.
Just sayin’

UCLA has had one game recently postponed or canceled due to COVID, but for now, they still play to play on Saturday. Should they not be able to it stands to reason that North Carolina and Kentucky will just play against each other on Saturday.
