Given that more than 250 people play the sport in more than 100 countries, it is not surprising that the World Cup has become the most highly-anticipated cultural event outside of the U.S. This weekend, billions of people around the globe will tune in as the 2022 World Cup kicks off in Qatar.
The primary focus of the World Cup is the actual sport of soccer. With that said, a lot of attention is also paid to the pageantry of the event, including music and fashion. As a result, creating music for the event is a major opportunity. Just a few weeks ago, Lil’ Baby unleashed “The World Is Yours To Take” for Budweiser’s World Cup campaign. Now, Nicki Minaj is taking the baton as the lead artist for the latest World Cup anthem from FIFA. Alongside Maluma and Myriam Fares, the New York native has shared a new track called “Tukoh Taka.” With production from Play-N-Skillz, Gordo and Massari, the fast-paced track seamlessly blends together English, Arabic and Spanish lyrics.
