The Cleveland Browns have announced that star running back Nick Chubb has been ruled out for their Week 6 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. He suffered a calf injury near the end of the Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Chubb missed practice on Friday and shortly after the team ruled him out for the game on Sunday. While this is a setback for a very run-heavy team, the Browns should still have running back Kareem Hunt for Sunday.

With Nick Chubb out, #Browns will obviously rely heavily on Kareem Hunt. But, Sunday is Baker Mayfield’s chance to shut some people up.

While Kareem Hunt is expected to receive the majority of the snaps there may be some room for rookie running back Demetric Felton. He has not attempted any rushes so far this season, but he has shown some promise in the passing game early in the season. Nick Chubb is a dynamic running back and the Browns will lose something on offense without him. Going against the 5-0 Cardinals without your star running back is not ideal.

There is no indication that Nick Chubb’s calf injury will keep him out for more than a single week. Practice next week will tell the team more about how his injury is healing and his availability for Week 7. The Browns are just a better team with Chubb on the field as their primary weapon. We here at Def Pen Sports hope to see the star running back on the field as soon as he’s healthy.
