Netflix has offered some important news about the development of one of their most highly anticipated series. The streaming platform announced that the Octavia Spencer led miniseries, Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker, will be released on March 20th 2020. In addition, Netflix revealed the first images from the series.
Octavia Spencer will star as Sarah Breedlove, better known as Madam C.J. Walker. Walker is best known as the beauty industry mogul who became the first Black woman self-made millionaire in U.S. history. Joining Spencer, Tiffany Haddish, Bill Bellamy, Carmen Ejogo and others will appear through the four-part miniseries.

Behind the scenes, SpringHill Entertainment and Wonder Street will produce the series. Spencer will also join LeBron James and Maverick Carter as executive producers. Leading the way, Kasi Lemmons and DeMane Davis will direct the series.
