Netflix has elected to end Patriot Act after six seasons and 39 episodes. Patriot Act Host Hasan Minhaj shared the news on Twitter on Tuesday morning.
“What a run,” he tweeted.
“Patriot Act has come to an end. I got to work with the best writers, producers, researchers, and animators in the game. My two babies were born and grew up with the show. Thank you to Netflix and everyone who watched. Now it’s time to return these screens to Best Buy,” he added.
Minhaj kicked off the show in October 2018. Throughout its run, he and the crew discussed topics ranging from foreign politics to college tuition within the United States. Along the way, he shared the show’s stage with Charlamagne Tha God, Desus & Mero and many others.
Aside from the show’s content and guests, he used the series to promote other content creators of color.
“If you’re a creative of color, now is the time,” he said.
“If you have a definitive voice or a project or thing that you want to put forward, I would say, just be unapologetic. Go for it,” he continued.
There is no word as to if the show will move to another streaming service in the future.
