It was reported last night that Nene and the Houston Rockets came to an agreement on a four-year, $15 million dollar contract. But, news came out this morning that contradicts the previous report.
Free agent Nene is very disappointed about his $4 million drop in expected contract & is "back at square one in free agency," a source said. https://t.co/FiVWzbl6Ou

His original deal was restructured by Houston after their verbal agreement. Houston knocked off a year from the contract and took off four million dollars as well. Reportedly, he is not pleased with how the situation is being handled and will return to the open market.
At the moment, free agent center Nene is not interested in re-signing to a three-year, $10 million deal with the Rockets. Market back open. https://t.co/ndRx4oqBgz

He is a great backup center and he was a perfect fit for Houston. His per game averages: 9.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 17.9 minutes.
It’s now uncertain if Nene will return to the Rockets because Houston signed Zhou Qi to a multi-year deal. His time in Houston could very well be done.
While Nene isn’t 25 years old anymore (he’s 34), his value as a backup center was phenomenal. Mike D’Antoni, the Rockets coach, could watch the game without stress after he took Clint Capela off of the floor because of the Brazilian center.
Nene’s fit in Houston looked like a match made in heaven and after last season, it would look odd if he was in a different uniform.
