Positive signs are emerging for the NBA and the players’ union. Despite worries that a new collective bargaining agreement would not be agreed upon before Thursday’s deadline for either side to opt out of the current NBA CBA, it appears that things are looking up.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein and Ian Begley, there is optimism that a new deal will be agreed upon as early as Wednesday night.

Initial concerns were raised when Carmelo Anthony stated that it would take a miracle for the deal to be done by Thursday. It was reported that the main issue was the licencing rights to player likenesses.
It appears that that miracle occurred and we will have a new NBA CBA without any more snags. This means that there will be no lockout following the season, which is a win for the NBA, the NBPA, and fans alike.
We will keep you updated on the situation as more details emerge.
