If there is one thing that Birdman is going to do, it’s find a talented a young artist and curate a joint project with them. Over the years, the Cash Money CEO has produced joint projects with Lil’ Wayne, Young Thug and Jacques. Now, he’s turning his attention toward a Louisiana native that he describes as the “biggest rapper” out right now.
“I think NBA YoungBoy might be the biggest rapper…. Ain’t no n*gga gone be bigger than NBA YoungBoy, numbers don’t lie, he’s the biggest YouTube artist right now in the world and he is behind the wall,” Birdman said during a recent appearance on REVOLT‘s Big Facts.
Originally recorded in 2018, From The Bayou showcases the musical bond between two generations of Louisiana artists. NBA Youngboy’s melodic flows coupled with the heavy voice of Birdman make for entertaining contrast in styles throughout 13 new tracks. More importantly, the new music offered on this project marks the first time that NBA Youngboy has released new music since being placed on house arrest in Utah. While he remains unable to tour or interact directly with his fanbase, the release of this project provides a promising sign for more new music to come as he works through his difficult legal battles.
