Just a few weeks ago, Nicki Minaj rejoined the world of music when she dropped two bangers, “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz”. The two records both featured Minaj rapping like a woman on a mission. This Friday, Nicki continued on her mission to the top of music with the release of music videos for both “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li”. Both videos take on a life of their own with Nicki in a futuristic city for “Chun-Li” and designing her world in front of a white screen for “Barbie Tingz”.
The release of the videos also comes as the first time we’ve seen Nicki since her interview with Zane Low on Beats One Radio a few weeks ago. During the interview, Nicki addressed her ongoing saga with Cardi B. Nicki stated, “The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out. I remember when I first came in the game, if a female of that stature had done a feature with me on it, I would only be singing their praises and saying, ‘Thank you.’ The first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out, it just really hurt me, ’cause she looked so aggravated and angry. And the only thing she kept saying was saying was ‘Oh, I didn’t hear that, I didn’t hear that verse.’ I was like ‘What?”
Nicki seemingly further addressed these issues on Barbie Tingz when she rapped, “When it come to stealin’ flows these birds is fluent/But they stutter when get asked ’bout the queen’s influence/When it’s clear they bite me, I’m flattered they like me/I don’t wanna check b*tches, tell ’em wear their Nikes.” It’s unclear whether this is water under the bridge or this feud will continue in the near future.
