The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will be without their star player Moses Wright for an undisclosed reason. Wright won ACC player of the year and was crucial to the Yellow Jackets winning the ACC Tournament Championship this year. The game against Loyola Chicago just got that much harder for head coach Josh Pastner and his crew. If the Yellow Jackets do win their game he will also likely be out next round. That matchup would likely be against the Illinois Fighting Illini.
BREAKING: Georgia Tech will be without star big man Moses Wright for the Yellow Jackets first-round game against Loyola Chicago, sources told me and @Brett_McMurphy.

The senior big man averaged 17.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game this season with the Yellow Jackets. He is a vital player for Georgia Tech and without him, it is likely Pastner will have to run more small-ball lineups. Sophomore big man Rodney Howard will likely see an increase in minutes but with limited action this year that poses a risk. The team will still have ACC Defensive Player of the Year Jose Alvarado to lead them against Loyola Chicago.
This news is unfortunate for Wright and Georgia Tech, but player safety takes the lead in these matters. Moses Wright is a senior and it is possible he has played his final college basketball game. This season will not count against his eligibility, but he has not spoken about playing another year at this point. The Yellow Jackets would need to defeat Loyola Chicago and win a likely matchup against one seed Illinois. That is a tall task, but if it happens Wright will likely be available to play in the Sweet Sixteen.
