Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming drama, Monster. Adapted from Walter Dean Myers’ novel, the film explores the horror of the criminal justice system and racism in America.
“Monster tells the story of Steve Harmon a seventeen-year-old honor student whose world comes crashing down around him when he is charged with felony murder. The film follows his dramatic journey from a smart, likeable film student from Harlem attending an elite high school through a complex legal battle that could leave him spending the rest of his life in prison,” Netflix writes.
The cast is nothing short of eye-catching. Led by Kevlin Harrison Jr., the film features Jeffrey Wright, Jharrel Jerome, Jennifer Ehle, Rakim Mayers and John David Washington. Also, Nasir “Nas” Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Rakim “A$AP Rocky” Mayers star in the film.
Monster is set to debut on Netflix next month. Check out the full trailer below.
