Portland Trailblazers Forward Carmelo Anthony has launched his very own global content company called Creative 7. Partnering with business strategist Asani Swann, the company will help develop television series, movies, podcasts and other forms of content. Thus far, Anthony and Swann have locked in deals with Will Packer and Brad Pitt.
“Storytelling brings people together, and it can serve as a vehicle for propelling larger societal conversations and understanding,. We are interested in all types of stories that have the power to serve as catalysts for the change we wish to see in the world,” Anthony told Variety.
“We are excited to work with Carmelo, Asani, and the team at Creative 7, and look forward to sharing more about the project soon,” Pitt’s production company, Plan B, stated.
Creative 7’s initial slate of projects includes a series called Blood Brothers. It will explore the friendship between Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali. Anthony is also reportedly working on a “30 for 30” for ESPN. Rounding out the initial slate of projects, Creative 7 is also working on a project that explores the story of the “Jersey Four.”
