The last few days have been a whirlwind for Mir Fontane. Last Friday, Cardi B dropped the visuals for her new single, “Up.” As expected, the video showcased the New York native’s ability to push the envelope and create buzz. Not to mention, the song included a number of quotable lines and will likely skyrocket up the charts. However, there was a bit of controversy attached to the song.
Immediately after the song was released, New Jersey artists, Mir Fontane and Mir Pesos, pointed out that the hook in Cardi B’s new single resembled the hook used in their song, “Stuck.” While the phrase, “If it’s up then, it’s suck,” is not new, the cadence in which it was rapped raised concern around the timeline. As of now, it’s unclear if there will be any further legal action taken in regards to the situation.
Beyond the controversy surrounding the “Up” single, it appears that Mir Fontane will look to capitalize on the new fans that may have found his “Stuck” video. Today, the Camden native dropped a new single called “Call J. Cole” produced by Mike Zombie. Check out the new video below.
