Mike Posner has been in this music industry for nearly a decade and he’s accomplished a lot. Since breaking on the scene as a student at Duke University, Mike Posner has managed to collaborate with everyone from Freddie Gibbs to Nick Jonas. Along the way, he’s co-written songs for Pharrell, Nelly and many more. In addition, he’s opened up for Justin Bieber, Kesha and Demi Lovato. At age thirty, Mike Posner is entering into the later stages of his career. As he enters this stage, he does so as a prolific act. He’s managed to release two projects in the past year and he’s back to deliver more.
The new project from the former Duke University student comes with eleven new tracks including the previously released singles, “Song About You”, “Move On”, “Noah’s Ark” and “Stuck In The Middle”. The project centers around the topics of growth and grieving. Much of the new album was written in response to the death of Posner’s father, his friend Avicii and a recent break-up. In this process, Posner said, “I had to go to the studio everyday and I was trying to just show up and record all the songs and do a good job and I was sad.” Still, Posner managed to push forth and find comfort in his music through songs like “Move On”.
