The Atlanta Hawks have recently recalled power forward Mike Muscala from the D-League and will rejoin the Hawks tonight as they take on the Houston Rockets.
Who is Mike Muscala you ask?
Mike Muscala was chosen with the 44th pick in the 2nd round in the NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. He was then traded with 16th pick Lucas Nogueira and guard Jared Cunningham to the Hawks for the No. 18 pick, Shane Larkins. On February 27, 2014, he signed a multi-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks and made his NBA debut on March 2, 2014, where he recorded 4 points and 5 rebounds.
Muscala has appeared in eight games with the Hawks this season, averaging 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 10.0 minutes shooting .568% from the field and .800 from charity stripe. In a Dec.10 win against Philadelphia, he had 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal and shot 6-8 from the field in 19 minutes, tying career-highs in FGM and assists.
He saw action in two games with Fort Wayne earlier this year, putting up 13.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 assists in 25.0 minutes. In his recent game with the Mad Ants, he recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 assists in 27 minutes in a 97-86 win. Yesterday he was reassigned to the Mad Ants but has been recalled today.
