More than 30 years after starring as a superhero in the late 1980s, actor Michael Keaton is reportedly in negotiations to return as Batman in the upcoming film, Batgirl. Variety tells movie fans that Keaton will star alongside leading actress, Leslie Grace, in the upcoming HBO Max project. Additionally, J.K. Simmons is expected to star as police commissioner Jim Gordon and Brendan Fraser will portray Firefly.
Not much is known about the film’s plot, but many expect it focus on the origin story of the comic book heroine. Along the way, Batgirl, known as Barbara Gordon, will face off against Firefly, a villain with a liking for pyrotechnics. Not to mention, Gordon must help keep the city safe while withholding her identity from her father, Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon.
