Megan Thee Stallion is a star who knows no bounds. Within a few years, she’s parlayed the success of her Tina Snow tape and endless talents into Grammy Awards, chart topping hits and appearances in the biggest media outlets. Now, she’s headed to the small screen. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Time Studios and Roc Nation are developing a multi-part docuseries about the recent college graduate.
“The project will mix rare archival footage and fresh verité video to highlight the rapper’s rise from a viral freestyling phenom to pop culture sensation. The series will explore her path to success and how she overcame personal hurdles to thrive professionally,” the project’s description reads.
The series has not landed at a network just yet, but it will have no problem finding a home given the Houston native’s star power. Not to mention, she is in great hands with Nneka Onuorah leading the way. Set to direct the upcoming Megan Thee Stallion docuseries, Onuorah has already worked alongside former President Barack Obama and fellow music superstar Lizzo. Desiree Perez and Lori York of Roc Nation and Ian Orefice, Hammonds, Alexa Conway and Mike Beck of Time Studios have also hopped on as executive producers.
“Megan has quickly blossomed into one of the pre-eminent entertainers in the world and it’s a testament to her perseverance, resilience and professionalism,” Perez told THR.
“Her journey is inspirational and we’re proud to have partnered with TIME Studios to highlight her personal and professional trajectory over the years. Our hope is that this documentary will inspire viewers to stay the course and pursue their passions through the ups and downs.”
