Jarrid Famous, a talented 6-foot-11 big man, will join the Dallas Mavericks with a chance to make the regular-season roster. Famous reportedly is agreeing to a partially guaranteed three year deal. Jarrid had an impressive stint on the Washington Wizards Summer League Team in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old Bronx, New York native received interest from overseas team before his agreement with Dallas.
Shams Charania of RealGM has more information on Famous’ contract.

Famous averaged 10.2 points per game, 6.8 rebounds playing 20 minutes per game in 5 appearances for the Wizards during the Las Vegas Summer League.
He went undrafted out of South Florida in 2011 and had stops in different countries, most notably in professional leagues in the Philippines and Dominican Republic. He spent time in the D-League with his last stint being with the Texas Legends, averaging 16 points and 15 rebounds per game, so the Mavs organization is familiar with the athletic big man.
While the Dallas Mavericks might have missed out on the prize big man this summer in DeAndre Jordan, they might have a developmental talent in Famous. He’s an agile, explosive big man who finishes well inside and pulls down rebounds with ease.
The Mavs and his agent Daniel Hazan of Hazan Sports Management hope Famous could show some flashes of what the team was looking for in DeAndre Jordan over the length of his deal. If he can do a few things well around the basket, like DeAndre, Famous could make a name for himself and the Mavs could get great value out of his deal.
