Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marvin Jones is returning to the Detroit Lions on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million. Jones began his career with the Cincinnati Bengals but has spent the majority of his total NFL career with the Detroit Lions. He played for the team from 2016-2020 before joining the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones played there for two seasons and will now return to the Lions. Detroit has spent a lot of money this offseason and is looking to make a push for the 2023-24 NFL Playoffs this upcoming season. Jones will hope to reunite with his former team and help them do that.

This past season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Marvin Jones caught 46 passes for 529 passes and three touchdowns on 81 targets. In the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs, Jones caught four passes for 50 yards and one touchdown in two games. While he was a reliable option for the team, Trevor Lawrence has developed better chemistry with other players. Jacksonville also has former Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley joining the team this upcoming season. The Lions could use a player like Jones in the NFC North this upcoming season. Detroit and Jones are aiming to get the team fully rebuilt and back into the 2023-24 NFL Playoffs next season.
