Detroit Pistons forward Marvin Bagley III is expected to miss the start of the 2022-23 NBA season with a knee injury. After an MRI on Wednesday, it was revealed that he suffered a bone bruise and a sprained MCL. The timetable for his return is between three and four weeks. While an injury is not good, the team was relieved to learn that the knee injury was not more serious and would not end his season. Detroit traded for him last season after he spent the beginning of his career with the Sacramento Kings. They then resigned him this offseason showing their faith in him on the roster.

Last season in 18 games after he was traded to the Detroit Pistons, Marvin Bagley III averaged 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.1asssits per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 55.5 percent and a three-point percentage of 22.9 percent. The Detroit Pistons have a promising young core and have stacked some veteran talent around them. While not contenders yet, they hope to grow into that with Bagley on the roster. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Marvin Bagley a quick recovery and return to the court.
