Elite cornerbacks are rare in the NFL and making sure you have one is vital to success on defense in the NFL. Lattimore is only 25 years old and should continue to mature and get better on the field. It is hard to argue this isn’t a deal that benefits both the player and the team considering his age and the likelihood he remains a top cornerback in the NFL. This may seem like a lot of money, but the long-term investment should easily pay off for the Saints.
