Most notably known for his big shot abilities during his collegiate tenure at Kansas and as the starting point guard during LeBron James’s stint with the Miami Heat, Mario Chalmers is hoping to make a positive impact on an NBA team years later. He last played for the Memphis Grizzlies in a limited role in 2015-16 and after evaluating his options in free agency this summer, the 31-year-old has decided to return to the Grizz on a one-year, partially guaranteed deal according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski:

Chalmers tore his ACL in March of 2016 so at least this signing confirms that his ACL has fully recovered and that he is ready to get back to NBA action. Chalmers hinted at his Memphis return via his Instagram account before the news was made official:
With a solid guard rotation already intact and the addition of Tyreke Evans, expect Chalmers to once again see limited minutes but do a good job providing a spark off the bench when asked upon.
