The Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia area has delivered some of the best R&B music over the past few months. In September, Masego dropped his debut studio album, Lady Lady. A month later, Brent Faiyaz released a six-track project called Lost. More recently, Ari Lennox dropped her debut album, Shea Butter Baby. In addition, Chris Brown dropped a new single with Drake and announced a new album called Indigo. While all of this was going on, a singer out of Virginia by the name of Marco McKinnis has been making his presence known in the region and beyond.
Over the last year, Marco McKinnis has kept the momentum going with a steady string of releases. He’s dropped singles like “Middle of the Party” and “Nothing” with Rex Orange County. Most notably, he dropped a project called Underground that led to a profile in Rolling Stone. This summer, Marco McKinnis is back with the release of yet another project called E’Merse. The new body of music includes records like “Energy,” “Give It Up,” and “On The Market.” Check out the full project above and let us know what you think of his latest work.
