Head Coach Mike Woodson and the Indiana Hoosiers have landed the commitment of 2022 top 30 recruit Malik Reneau. The five-star recruit was originally committed to the Florida Gators but opened his recruitment back up after a coaching change at Florida. While he held several offers his visit to Indiana went well and he committed shortly after. He could potentially be a “one and done” prospect, but that will depend on his level of play on the court as a freshman.
Five-star class of 2022 power forward Malik Reneau of powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida and the Nightrydas AAU team has committed to Indiana.
The 6-foot-8 Reneau is a 5-star prospect ranked No. 28 nationally in the 2022 class by the 247Sports Composite Index. #iubb

Indiana is attempting to recapture its former glory and landing five-star recruits is an important step in that process. Malik Reneau will be joining a five-star, four-star, and three-star recruit next season at Indiana. Joining him will be top 25 combo guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, top 75 power forward Kaleb Banks, and top 150 shooting guard CJ Gunn. This class has a good mix of top talent and long-term talent for college basketball. Hood-Schifino and Reneau are high school teammates and could be a great dynamic duo.

Head Coach Mike Woodson is attempting to rebuild his alma mater and has done a solid job so far. Recruits like Malik Reneau help the program win and in turn winning draws in more top-level recruits. Putting talent into the NBA can also help elevate the profile of a coach and his program. Indiana was once a powerhouse in college basketball and has craved returning to that spot in college basketball for a long time now.
